DIY Pies

Ingredients:

  • 1 MALU Pork Boerewors

  • 1 Roll Puff Pastry

  • 30ml Tomato Sauce

  • 30ml Chutney

  • 1 Egg

  • 10ml BBQ Braai Spice

Method:

  1. Remove the sausage casing.
  2. Cut the Boerewors roll in half (same length as the pastry sheet).
  3. Lay the pastry flat, place the two lengths of Boerewors on the pastry sheet, 3 fingers apart.
  4. Spoon or brush Tomato sauce and chutney over the Boerewors.
  5. Cut the puff pastry between the sausages, in order to fold around the Boerewors.
  6. Fold and pinch the pastry around the Boerewors.
  7. Place pies on a baking tray and brush with a beaten egg.
  8. Sprinkle the pies with your favourite BBQ spice.
  9. Place in a pre-heated oven, 180°C, for 30 minutes or until pies are golden brown and flaky.
